Lori has lived in Eugene most of her life. She graduated from Sheldon High School and attended Oregon State University. She now resides in Eugene with her husband and their two children. She previously was a travel consultant for many years. She volunteered for years at the Child Advocacy Center for the District Attorney's office helping abused children. Now her time is devoted to helping homeless animals find homes which has always been where her heart lies. She also volunteers at LCAS and fosters animals when time permits. She has four dogs and four cats that only add to her harmonious home. Her main purpose for founding Save the Pets was to eventually open an animal adoption center for homeless and abandoned pets.

Julie Lowell
Vice President/Adoption Coordinator |
Julie was born and raised in Eugene. She currently is a broker at State Farm Insurance. She became involved in rescue about 4 years ago, realizing the enormity of pet overpopulation in our area. During that time she met the light of her life, Dexter her dog, through Second Chance Companions. She has continued with her rescue program and helped support other animal charities, through donations and fostering animals on her own. She has found her calling by becoming a member of Save the Pets, something near and dear to her heart.

Cherie Cahill
Secretary/Events Planner |
Born and raised here in Springfield. But I've also lived in Arizona and Washington. Graduated from Springfield high. I live in Springfield with my husband and our 3 teenage children, all of whom support my passion. I have been rescuing animals all my life from hamsters running across the street, dogs that have showed up on my doorstep, to many cats over the years - taking in motherless kittens and bottle feeding them. My very first bottle baby turned 10 years old this Earth Day. Although I didn't know that what I was doing was so important or that many people shared the same passion as I did. Over the years I have advocated for different types of animals from domestic to wolves and other wildlife. I have over the years volunteered in different capacities from Secretary of Active Bethel Citizens, President of Gleaming Gleaners through Food for Lane County, my children's schools, Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader but my heart always finds its way back to helping out the animals of our community. I currently have 7 of my own cats and foster several others. Other interests are web design, any kind of family community events and just spending time with our busy family as much as possible.

Lisa Wahl
Treasurer |
Born in Glens Falls, NY, I moved to Oregon in 1998. I started volunteering at my local animal shelter, the Los Angeles SPCA, in 1987. Since then, I've volunteered for about a dozen different groups, some small, some huge, started a group in LA, Kitten Rescue (no relation to the KR there now) and another one in Coos County, All 4 Animals. I lived in Coos County from 1998-2004, then in Milton-Freewater from 2004-2006, where I worked with Pets of Milton-Freewater. I bought an RV in 2005 and spent a lot of time moving around mostly in Oregon, but including some months in New Orleans helping with post-Katrina animal rescue. I've been a full-time RVer for a little over a year, volunteering at State Parks as a Camp Host, SNIP House in Prineville, and WAG here.

Sarah Luther
Marketing Team Coordinator |
Sarah was born in Miami, FL and moved to Oregon with her family as a teenager. She currently resides in Cottage Grove with her husband. Sarah attended Sheldon High School, and has a degree in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon. She currently works for Northwest GYN Oncology, a branch of Women's Care in Eugene. She & her husband adore their two "babies" adopted from local shelters. One is a Pit mix named Nicky Boo Boo, and the other is a Boxer mix named Zedd. She has a special love for Pit Bulls because they have such awesome personalities and there is such a need to educate the public about them due to misinformation. Her interests include animal rescue, dance, singing, hiking, art and reading.

Gretchen Suchman

Gretchen Suchman has advocated for animals as long as she can remember. While she has been known to save bunnies, cattle, and sheep - her biggest enjoyment has come from helping loose/lost dogs find their way home (please make sure your dogs have on collars with nametags! she pleads). Raised in Chicago, she came to Oregon to attend the UofO's Master in Education program - since then she has lived in Eugene with her husband and their two rescued dogs, Taylor and Mable. Gretchen loves working with Save the Pets because she believes that every homeless animal deserves an advocate and a little publicity! She can be reached at STPgretchen@yahoo.com
