Save the Pets has helped over 1,000 rescued animals find home since they formed in April of 2007.
Charlotte & Diesl

We rescued Charlotte, Diesl and their 3 siblings from near starvation. They were only about 8 weeks old, semi-feral and very shy. With medical attention, patience and a lot of T.L.C. , after 5 months of fostering they were ready for their new homes. Charlotte and Diesl were the last to get adopted and they lucked out, findind a home that adopted them both. The adopters are first time cat owners and absolutely smitten with the two!
Meet Dezzy....

Dezzy with new dad, Dave. Desmond had been with Save the Pets for two years! He was adopted a couple of times and it simply did not work out. Desmond is very high energy and it would take a skilled and patient person to handle him. Being the great dog he is, we never gave up on him. Now he's found his forever person, and they couldn't be happier!
Special thanks to Andrea Graham for all your hard work with him!
Meet Sunny...

Sunny was rescued by STP from a California shelter sceduled to be euthanized. She is epileptic and needed serious dental work. After starting her on medication and getting dental surgery, Sunny is now seizure free and adopted by a wonderful family who absolutely adores her!
Meet Yablo..

Yablo is a 2 year old male Manx. He was rescued from a drug house. We had no idea if he had been abused or affected in someway from his experiences but he is the most gentle, loving creature! We found him a home where he now lives the pampered life.
Rudy with his new mom...
Rudy was a stray that was living under a mobile home. When the family knew they were moving they called us, knowing the only shelter Rudy and his siblings had would be driving away soon.
We took him in, brought him to the center and within days found his perfect match!
Meet Ruby..

We literally rescued Ruby from and East coast puppy mill. We paid to fly her out here and when she arrived we realized that she had probably lived the her entire one year of life inside a cage. She was afraid of people, other animals, car rides, stairs, you name it. She was very sick with giardia which took over 6 months to cure. We believe it was due to eating her own feces because she was not being properly fed. After 8 months in foster we finally got her to trust people and prepare her for her forever home. She now lives with a doting family who takes her camping and to the beach where she loves to chase the birds. Ruby got her happily ever after!
Meet Preston...

Hi, I'm attaching a current photo of J.J. (formerly Preston). He's such a cutie, full of vim and vigor. He likes to play a lot and has a really sweet personality, that is, when he's not tormenting his fellow inmate Melody, our 10 yr. old torby. He seems to like his people just fine and loves to cuddle on the couch at night. I'm so glad I happened upon Save-the-Pets because J.J. is just perfect for us.
Thanks,
Janet & Ron
Meet Elvis...

Elvis was brought into the shelter as a small puppy. Within a few weeks he was adopted only to be returned 3 days later due to dog allergies by the family. Elvis spent another 6 weeks awaiting in the shelter; coming weekend after weekend to our adoption events in search of a new home. Elvis never lost his hopes or his shining spirit and one lucky day in August as the adoption event was wrapping up and crates were being loaded into trucks, Gayle and Doug Ford stumbled upon Elvis finding the 'soul-mate' they had for months been searching for. Elvis is now living his dream in a loving home and still the little ham that he always was. I believe if he could he would tell us 'some things in life are worth waiting for.'
Meet Bernie...

Cindy and Scott Lowell fell in love with Bernie the minute they met! He had spent weeks at LCARA with a huge tumor on his leg. A kind soul paid to have it removed and he waited patiently since that time for the perfect family to come give him a loving home. Well, Bernie found that family and now he is living the high life! Matilda with her new dad...
Matilda came into the center. She was a feisty older gal who either seemed to really like humans or not! But it was an instant bond between her and her new dad.
IF WE WERE MORE LIKE OUR DOG....
If you can start the day without caffeine, If you can get
going without pep pills, If you can always be cheerful,
ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining
and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the
same food every day and be grateful for it, If you can
understand when your loved ones are too busy to give
you any time, If you can overlook it when those you love
take it out on you when, through no fault of yours,
something goes wrong, If you can take criticism and
blame without resentment, If you can ignore a friend's
limited education and never correct him, If you can resist
treating a rich friend better than a poor friend, If you can
face the world without lies and deceit, If you can conquer
tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, If you can say
honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice
against creed, color, religion or politics, Then, my friend,
you are almost as good as your dog.
